HHI Design was selected to execute the site design for Heritage Square Park and the Orange County Regional History Center. The one-acre site was the home of the old county court house.

As tribute to the demolished courthouse, the project’s identity signage was designed and constructed using new materials as well as salvaged bricks and tiles from the old building. The site icon, a sixteen-foot tall, three-dimensional sculpture, derives its form from collectable, folding, souvenir postcards of Florida. Images seen on the sculpture evoke an “Old Florida” feel and depict the historic Orange County Courthouse, Lake Eola, local orange groves and cypress swamps. This project is significant to Orlando - the building is on the National Historic Register and resides within the Pine Street Historic District.

HHI Design was responsible for the design of the project’s landscape architecture, irrigation, hardscape, site furnishings, water features/fountains, lighting, signage, public art, public involvement and construction administration services.

If you build it, they will come.
