HHI Design was commissioned by the City of DeLand to provide landscape architectural services for the design, bidding and construction of its new City Hall and civic plaza.
The City desired the exterior space of City Hall to act as a flexible, multi-use, public gathering space for a variety of activities. During the schematic phase of the project, HHI Design assisted to solicit public opinion for committee approved concepts. Landscape planting stressed the use of native, xerascape trees, shrubs and irrigation to reduce water consumption. Private donations will fund the future installation of a decorative fountain which was designed to reflect the adopted “Athens of Florida” design theme.
HHI Design was responsible for landscape architecture design schematics, construction documents, bidding and administration phases of the project. Landscape elements included planting, irrigation, hardscape, lighting and site furnishings.
