Finding of Necessity and Redevelopment Plan
HHI Design was selected as the City of Panama City Beach’s continuing professional planning and urban design consultant. Our first assignment was to prepare a Finding of Necessity Report and Community Redevelopment Plan for a 2,000 acre area in the vicinity of Front Beach Road.
HHI Design’s responsibilities included document production, assessing neighborhoods and corridors, capital improvement programming, comprehensive plan reviews and assisting in the production of notices, resolutions and ordinances needed to adopt the planning documents, create the district and establish a redevelopment trust fund.
Corridor Plan, Streetscape, Design Standards
& Streetscape Design
HHI Design prepared a corridor plan and streetscape design standards for approximately 8 miles of Front Beach Road which include preferred roadway cross sections, pedestrian and transit amenities, street lighting, special intersection treatments, landscaping and beach access cross overs. The firm also preformed a feasibility study for a multi-model center, parking assessments and small area studies.
HHI Design serves as the project landscape architect for the roadway improvement projects identified in the redevelopment plan. The streetscape design standards and current projects can be viewed at www.pcbonthemove.com.
