Downtown Orlando's Lynx Lymmo

Date Completed: 1997

1999 Award of Merit Florida Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects

HHI Design served as the urban designer and landscape architect for downtown Orlando’s transportation system (Lymmo) and its adjacent streetscape elements.

The focus of the transit route was to provide the public incentive to park and use the free transit system to access downtown destinations such as Orlando City Hall, Orange County Courthouse, Amway Center, Bob Carr Center for Performing Arts and other popular businesses, shops, restaurants and hotels.

The design enhances pedestrian and traffic safety by providing dedicated lanes for buses traveling the 3-mile route. This feature allows buses to by-pass downtown congestion and maintain a timely schedule adding to the systems appeal.

HHI Design was responsible for the design of the route, landscape architecture, specialty paving, station shelters, roadside planters, banners, vehicle graphics and associated amenities.

If you build it, they will come.
